How to talk about the business without ever making a claim. Nobody teaches this as a skill. It's always a legal document nobody reads. So here it is as a skill.
You don't need to exaggerate a thing. The truth, told small, is the most persuasive story in the world.
Most people on your team aren't silent about the business because they lack belief. They're silent because they're scared of saying the wrong thing. So they either say something they shouldn't, or they say nothing at all. Both kill teams. The fix isn't a rulebook. It's five swaps anyone can learn in ten minutes.
Only say things that would survive being screenshotted and shared out of context. "My first payment was $25" survives. It's small, it's true, nobody can argue with it. "I earn more than my old job" does not survive. A small first always survives. A claim never does.
Before you post it, screenshot-test it in your head.
Results invite comparison and scrutiny. Firsts invite connection. Your first cheque, your first customer, your first yes. They're the most compliant income stories that exist, because they're tiny, verifiable and personal. And here's the bonus: they're also more persuasive. Big results create distance. Small firsts create possibility.
The most dangerous sentence in this industry starts with "As a result, I now..." Swap it for what the moment told you. Not "I now earn X" but "It told me this was real." A realisation is yours. Nobody can dispute it, no regulator can measure it, and it's the part of the story people actually remember.
Never project an outcome onto the other person. "You could replace your income" is a promise you can't keep and a claim you can't make. "Want to see what I'm doing?" is an invitation. Your story opens the door. Their results are theirs to make.
Tell your story. Never tell their future.
On the product side, same discipline. Share your experience, never a medical outcome. "I have more energy in the afternoons" is your experience. "This fixes fatigue" is a health claim. If a sentence could belong on a medicine label, it doesn't belong in your story.
"My first payment was twenty-five dollars," not "the income potential is huge."
"It told me this was real," not "as a result I now earn..."
"Want to see what I'm doing?" not "you could build a six-figure business."
"I sleep better than I have in years," not "this fixes insomnia."
"Here's what happened for me," not "here's what will happen for you."
Run the five swaps in one team huddle. Then make the screenshot rule the house rule: anyone can ask "would that survive a screenshot?" about anything, anytime, no offence taken. That one question, asked freely, protects your whole team and your company forever. Compliance stops being a fear and becomes a shared reflex.
